She had also worked in the Taft School Cafeteria in Uxbridge. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member of the Unitarian Church of Uxbridge, enjoyed knitting, stamp collecting, and cribbage.

Johnson Uxbridge - Mrs. Dorothy A. (Ambler) Johnson , 91 , of Fair Street, died Friday October 1, 2010 in Beaumont Rehab. & Skilled Nursing Ctr, Northbridge. She was the wife of the late Gustaf A. Johnson who died in 1984. Mrs. Johnson was born in Waltham Ma, on January 19, 1919 the daughter of the late C. Raymond and Ethel (Gamage) Ambler. She attended the Hopedale Schools and was raised in Hopedale. Mrs. Johnson had been a resident of Uxbridge since 1951 and was employed at the Tupperware Company in Blackstone for 21 years. She had also worked in the Taft School Cafeteria in Uxbridge. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member of the Unitarian Church of Uxbridge, enjoyed knitting, stamp collecting, and cribbage. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter Karleen M. and her husband Stephen W. Chase of Upton; her son Richard G. and his wife Barbara D. Johnson of Uxbridge; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family gratefully appreciates the kind, loving, and compassionate care provided by the Beaumont Comfort Corner staff and the Salmon Hospice team. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 9, 2010 at 11 AM in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main Street, (Route 122) Uxbridge. Burial will follow at the Hopedale Village Cemetery (Route 16) Mendon Street, Hopedale. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 10 - 11 AM prior to the funeral service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.) 20 Batterson Pk. Rd, 3rd Floor, Farmington, CT 06032.
